Who owns the "iPhone" name?If you guessed Apple, you would be wrong. "iPhone" is a registered trademark of Cisco. This means that apple is having to pay Cisco for the right to use the name "iPhone". Why would Cisco own a trademark to the name? Simply because in December their Linksys devision launched a group of IP-Telephony products for use with Skype under that brand name. Apparently Cisco purchased a company that registered that trademark back in 1999. So every iPhone sold royalties go to Cisco. http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/16425178.htm Comments (Comment Moderation is enabled. Your comment will not appear until approved.)
