Description:
As a member of the executive team, the GM London is charged with leading 30+ employees in the agency's London offices. He/she has primary responsibility for the London office P/L as well as management of client relationships, new business development, staff oversight, and quality of work. He/she will report to the company CEO, will work closely with company COO and CFO in day-to-day management, and will function as a business partner to the company executive team in New York. Key London office clients include Nokia, Sky, John Lewis, Bacardi, and SC Johnson.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Management of a creatively-led, multi-disciplinary, marketing services organization focused on digital marketing including interactive experiences, ecommerce/transactional applications, online advertising (brand-building and/or direct marketing), email/CRM, mobile marketing
• Lead a staff of 30+ people and grow it to 50+ people with a budget ranging from $7 to $10 million
• Work closely day-to-day with company COO and CFO on operating and financial matters
• Monitor overall performance against annual operating and profit targets
• Ensure office compliance with company business procedures including contracts and revenue recognition
• Drive revenue and top-line growth through the strategic targeting of profitable accounts and industry verticals
• Oversee 5-15 ongoing client relationships
• Develop deep and lasting client relationships that build R/GA London business
• Collaborate with company department heads based in New York to ensure that R/GA London leverages company best practices and thought leadership
• Develop and refine a go-to-market strategy including value propositions, services, and solutions
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-10 years comparable management experience including P/L management
- Proven track-record building and operating a successful digital agency or marketing services company
- Broad and deep financial and operational management skills
- Thorough understanding of the digital agency competitive landscape
- Detailed understanding of UK and EMEA markets with the potential to grow the office beyond UK focus to EMEA
- Business strategy, communication, presentation, and networking skills sufficient for C-level client contact and relationships
- Solid staff management experience including ability to manage both up and down
- Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills that encourage team cooperation
- A credible leader who will win the confidence of employees and external constituencies including the Partner Agencies, the business press, and industry-at-large
- Experience within a holding company environment a plus
